From the Big Daddies like Bajaj and TVS to the performance beasts from Ultraviolette and Yamaha, everyone is bringing their A-game.
We are talking about everything budget scooters under ₹1 Lakh, family scooters with massive range, and sporty machines that scream performance. Here is the full breakdown of every major EV launching in 2026 that you need to know about.
1. Bajaj’s Masterstroke: The Affordable Chetak
Let’s start with the news that matters to the middle class. Bajaj is launching its most affordable electric scooter in January 2026.
- What is it? It looks like the Chetak, but Bajaj has made smart cuts to bring the price down. It uses Plastic Panels (instead of metal) and a Hub Motor.
- Performance: Don’t underestimate it. With a likely 3 kWh battery, it promises a real-world range of 100 km+.
- Price: Expect it between ₹80,000 and ₹1 Lakh.
- My Opinion: This is exactly what the market needs: a reliable Bajaj badge at a petrol scooter price. This will boost Bajaj’s sales massively.
2. Simple Energy Family Scooter
Simple Energy is finally moving beyond the enthusiast crowd. Between January and March 2026, they are launching a practical family scooter.
- Design: Unlike the sporty Simple One, this will look more traditional and practical, with a larger seat and better floorboard.
- Specs: Expect a 3 to 4 kWh battery with a solid claimed range of 150-180 km.
- Price: Around ₹1 Lakh to ₹1.2 Lakh.
- Why it matters: Just like Ather’s sales jumped after launching the Rizta Family scooter, Simple Energy is hoping for the same magic here.
3. Yamaha Aerox E The Heartbreaker?
Yamaha lovers, listen up. The company has showcased the Aerox E, and it’s coming in Q1 2026, Jan-March.
- The Good: It looks stunning. Sporty, aggressive, and typically Yamaha. It has a powerful 9.5 kW motor.
- The Bad: The battery is tiny, only 2.5 kWh. The claimed range is just 106 km (Real world will be even less).
- The Ugly: The expected price is around ₹2 Lakh.
- My Verdict: Honestly? I don’t think this will sell in big numbers. High price + Low range is a hard sell in India.
4. Yamaha E-C06 The Better Yamaha
If the Aerox E disappointed you, look at this. Launching around the same time, this scooter is built on the River Indy platform but with Yamaha’s sporty design.
- Specs: It packs a 4 kWh battery and a 6.7 kW motor.
- Performance: Top speed of 90 kmph and an IDC range of 160 km.
- Price: ₹1.5 Lakh – ₹1.6 Lakh.
- The Catch: To make it look sporty, they reduced the boot space to just 24.5 Liters. But overall, this is a much better package than the Aerox E.
5. Suzuki E-AXS The Late Comer
Suzuki is testing our patience. This scooter is already delayed (along with the electric Vitara), but it should finally arrive between January and March 2026.
- Specs: A 3 kWh LFP battery with a claimed range of 95 km.
- Price: ₹1 Lakh – ₹1.2 Lakh.
- My Advice to Suzuki: Please launch it fast! You are already losing customers to TVS and Bajaj.
6. TVS Orbiter New Variant
TVS is updating its Orbiter lineup before June 2026. The current one is selling well, but the new variant will be a range monster.

This is the most Hyped scooter in India, and frankly, I have booked one too!
- Launch: Deliveries start in Q2 2026 (by June).
- Design: It looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. Aggressive, sharp, and futuristic.
- Performance: Multiple battery options (3.5 to 6.5 kWh) offering a range from 160 km up to 260 km
- Price: The introductory price was ₹1.20 Lakh, but it has increased to ₹1.45 Lakh.
- Verdict: This scooter will change the image of EVs in India.
8. Ather’s New EL Platform
Ather is not sitting quietly. After June 2026, they will be bringing a completely new scooter built on a cost-friendly platform.
- Cost-Cutting The Good Kind: New frame, and a Side-Mounted Motor. No belt drive hassle.
- Battery: Options from 2 kWh to 5 kWh LFP and NMC chemistry.
- Price: This allows Ather to price it aggressively between ₹90,000 and ₹1.5 Lakh. This will be a volume seller for them.
9. VinFast & The Rest
- VinFast: Entering India in the Festive Season 2026. Their designs are a bit plain, but they are targeting the Taxi/Service segment aggressively. Prices could start under ₹1 Lakh.
